Breeding of Lilies

Innovative Breeding of Unique Lilies
At Lily Company B.V., everything revolves around breeding exceptional garden lilies. We develop a wide range of more than 180 cultivars, including:
Double Oriental lilies
pollen-free, with rich bloom forms and intense fragrances
Asiatic hybrids
in striking colors and bicolor variants
Martagon lilies
with gracefully nodding flowers and a natural look
Pot lilies
compact, profuse-blooming and suited to patios and smaller gardens
Pollen-free lilies
ideal for people with allergies and for cut-flower production
Our breeding combines classic species with modern genetics. By selecting across multiple generations (F1, F2, F3), we create vigorous, resilient cultivars with unique shapes, colors and flowering habits.
With sustainable cultivation on 130 hectares and full control over the process—from breeding to export—we deliver lilies that are valued worldwide by growers, garden enthusiasts and florists.

Breeding often takes several years: traits express themselves over generations and careful testing takes time. Throughout the process, plants are grown and evaluated under varied conditions to ensure the desired characteristics remain stable. Only after multiple selection rounds and extensive practical trials are the best cultivars propagated on a larger scale and made available for cultivation.
